"Never doubt the importance of MariElders to us seniors. I have been a member here since 1986 and it has been a major part of my life ever since."

MEET OUR MEMBERS

Barbara Hampton.jpg

Barb Hampton

Barb became involved with MariElders because her mother, Ginny, was a member.  When Ginny became ill, Barb would bring Ginny to activities and slowly got involved herself.  After her mom died, Barb found herself enjoying the programs so much that she continued with her membership.  Today, Barb is very active at MariElders.  She puts a lot of time and energy into organizing both our Canasta and Bridge groups.  Barb has met many of her best friends through MariElders.

Barb grew up in Mariemont and graduated from Mariemont High School, class of 1960.  She and her husband raised three children in the Village.  When Barb lost her husband, she felt very alone.  Being part of MariElders keeps her busy and feeling good.

The one word that Barb uses to describe MariElders is friendly.  She loves that MariElders is a safe place for her to come and be welcomed, no matter what else is going on in her life.  She sees all of the members as friends.
